10 years of the Warralily Market

For over 10 years now, the team at Newland Developments have delivered community events and activation to support their growing community at Warralily in Armstrong Creek.

The Warralily market, held 4 times per year, has showcased a variety of local businesses, clubs and organisations over the years. Connecting residents with these groups is just one of the ways that Newland have put community building at the forefront of the strategy for delivering their community of almost 6,000 homes.

Estate Manager, Anna Kichakov shares her experience with the the market:

Over time the Warralily Markets has become a much-loved event for not only our residents but also to those who live in the Geelong region. It is very exciting for our team to be part of event, and we look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new visitors.  The day has a real sense of community, with friends & families catching up at the event. There are always new local small businesses & artisans to meet! Especially when the Warralily stall is next to the French Bakery & the coffee cart! Always important to have great neighbours!

The Warralily Market hosts approx. 700-800 participants and their families. There is always a combination of great food & entertainment for all. Even a cosy area to kick off your shoes and enjoy the atmosphere. So, look out on our social pages for our next event!  See you there soon!

Some of the standouts from previous markets:

Delicious food: Always. A recent highlight is the French Bakery. The owner closed down her store. There was a continuous line for her bake groups all day long at the last market and she sold within hours.
Warralily Merch – last market the bucket hats were a hit! The day was boiling!
Sense of Community: Friends meeting up at the market to spend the day together. Residents bumping into each other.
Face painting: Always a hit!
Animal Farm: Really popular with the kids
Warralily lolly competition: Complimentary competition. Guess how many lollies. When we call the winners, they are surprised that they’ve not only won the lolly jar but a family pass to the movies.  I remember one particular winner, a resident of Warralily, she was a single mother and when she found out she was so grateful that now she can take her daughter to the movies. Its really nice to be able to share in these moments.
